How to secure instagram account

Instagram is most popular social site to share photo& vidoes but it is always targeted by spammers . And, it’s our task to make sure to secure our instagram account from bad people.

Here are a few things you can do to keep your account secure:

1.Setup Two Factor Authentication –

2FA is a security process in which users provide two different authentication factors to verify themselves, by using below steps you can enable Two Factor Authentication in your account-

Click on setting>security>Two factor Authentication>choose your security method(You can then choose to set up 2FA through text message or an independent authentication google app).

2. Always check Login Activity

This page will display all your locations where you have logged in with your account and you can verify location, you can check this setting by using below steps-

3.Setup Strong Privacy Policy –

you can control the privacy of future posts,status and personal information .Select the appropriate audience for your future posts-

A> Set your account private

Click on setting>security>Privacy>click on private account

B> do not put any private information in your bio

C>Block, Restrict, or Report Accounts

You can block someone to prevent them from seeing things you post on your profile, starting chatting with you or adding you as a friend. Blocking someone you’re friends with will automatically unfollower them and they are not able to see your profile,post,status.

C> Comments and Stories Privacy setting-

You have option in instagram to control over who can and cannot interact with your photos and videos.

Settings > Privacy > Story/Comment, you can hide your stories or comment from specific accounts.

4. Identify Fake account-

You can find fake user by using below tips-

A.No Profile Picture

B. Check if user have Profile Picture then follow below steps-

1. Right-click on the image and save it somewhere where you easily can find it again! The Windows desktop would be a great place!

2. Now goto google image search >upload image and click on search

C. Always Read the About Section(Read about section of user(find details like address,intro , location)

5.Secure your password

Don’t use your Facebook/Instagram/gmail password anywhere else online And do not share your password with anyone

Don’t make your password something obvious such as your birthday or mother’s maiden name.

Always set strong password(example- Blogger$98745, FGHGhggk%$123)

6.Do not accept Follower request from unknown person

hacker or scammer may create fake to send request, becoming friend with stranger might allow them to spam your timeline and can send malicious message

7.Change your password:-

One security tip often given to users is to regularly change passwords.
